ENTIRE LOWER LEVEL, INCLUDING THE POOL,
TO CLOSE FOR RENOVATIONS STARTING JULY 12.
May 11, 2021
Dear KrocStar & Guests:
Having excellent communication with you, our members and guests, is always a top priority for us here at The Salvation Army Ray & Joan Kroc Corps Community Center. We pride ourselves on having numerous outlets to keep our #KrocStars informed regarding all things happening at #TheKroc. With summer fast approaching, we wanted to make sure you had ample notice regarding upcoming work on the facility.
As you may be aware, we have been working through a number of HVAC system issues in our lower level. In order to address these problems, The Kroc Center will shut down the entire lower floor of the facility beginning Monday, July 12, 2021 for renovations. The Salvation Army anticipates the work to take up to two months to complete. During this period, we have coordinated a number of options for our members to lessen the impact this shutdown will have on your member experience.
FITNESS CLASSES (Land & Aqua)
A limited offering of (land-based) fitness classes will be moved to the main and upper floors of The Kroc Center. Click here for July's Class Schedule.
Kroc Center members will have access to Quincy University’s pool during their open swim hours and may attend their aqua fitness classes. #KrocStars simply need to sign in at Quincy University’s Check-In Desk to gain access to their facility.
Click here for QU's Fitness Center info or see the class schedule.
Arrangements have been made with Quincy University’s Health and Fitness Center to move our swim lesson program to their pool facility during this period.
Contact Nanette at 217-231-5676 for more info.
LOWER LEVEL - LOCKERS & CABANAS
Unfortunately, members will not have access to The Kroc Center locker rooms or cabanas during this time. Members who have a rental locker on our lower level are being asked remove their personal belongings from their locker prior to July 12. To account for this inconvenience, we will extend all locker rentals by two months for the loss of this service for those impacted members. Day use lockers will be available to store your belongings during your workout, however, they will need to be removed each day as we do not have enough day use lockers to account for all rental locker customers.
Although we fully understand the frustration surrounding this and the other renovations our building has undergone in the past few years, please know, this work is for the long-term benefit of our members and our community as a whole.
We thank you for your patience, understanding and commitment to The Salvation Army Kroc Center.
If you have questions related to this work, please contact our Control Desk at 217-222-5762 and ask for the Operations Director.
