NASM Certified
Personal Trainer (2019)

In addition to having earned her National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM) personal training certification, Kim is also in the process of attaining her NASM certification in food and nutrition.

She has always been passionate about health and wellness, but became even more interested and dove deeper into her own fitness practice in recent years.

In the beginning, health and wellness and exercising were simply a hobby for this 30-something mom of three, but now it's a way of life. Kim believes, “The journey of reconditioning and tailoring our bodies to be at its best on both a physical and nutritional level is not only gratifying, but it's also very personal.” She truly enjoys all the phases and levels of fitness training, but core training and strength training are what captivate her the most.

When asked what her motto is she stated, "Put your heart, mind, and soul into it, and your body will follow."

ACSM Certified Exercise Physiologist

Training since 2016

Master of Science in Exercise Physiology

As an overweight and unhealthy teenager who always felt sluggish, Amy knew she had to take control of her health. After a 65 pound weight loss that started in 2005, she is healthier in her 30s than she was in her 20s. This is proof that age is simply just a number, not the determining factor of our health.

After Amy realized how much her life was positively impacted by her weight loss, she became very passionate about health and wellness. She went on to get her Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science with a minor in Nutrition, and later her Master of Science in Exercise Physiology from Western Illinois University.

Amy coordinates the Healthy Aging program here at The Kroc Center. Through this position, she gets to work with the older adults in our community; through group fitness, personal training, and her classroom-style wellness program.

Amy is very passionate about proper form during exercise to avoid injuries, and coaches on ways to workout safely. She has trained and worked with many different ages and fitness levels, and provides modifications when necessary.

Believing consistency is key when it comes to exercise adherence, Amy helps to find the type of exercise that her clients enjoy, and will have something fun in which to look forward.

When asked what her motto is she stated, "Good health is a lifestyle, not a temporary fix. It’s a journey of consistent small wins that include healthy food, exercise, drinking water, and managing stress."
